Welcome to the website for Gender Neutral Housing at the University of Mary Washington.

Approved in Fall of 2008, GNH entered its pilot year during the 2009-2010 school year. At the end of our first year we were awarded “Hall Community of the Year” by Residence Life. We are currently in our second year as a program.

Housed in Madison Hall in central campus, GNH promotes dialogues and discussion regarding issues of sexual and gender diversity.

While our rooms are not sex-neutral, our program is in the first of a multi-step process so that ultimately any student can live with any student regardless of sex.

Feel free to check out the tabs at the top to learn more about this community!
